Updates Regarding the Opening of Mehlmann Library under the "Purple Badge" Regulations

Opening hours (Subject to the limitations outlined below):
Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday: 09:30 – 16:00
Monday, Wednesday: 09:00 – 16:00

General Information –

In keeping with the "Purple Badge" regulations –

Prior to your arrival to the TAU campus, you must fill out a health declaration form, to be presented at the gate.
During this time, the library will provide services to students and staff of the TAU Faculty of the Humanities only. Other guests will not be allowed in the library.
The library will provide services upon request in advance only, please contact us by email to schedule your arrival: diaspora@tauex.tau.ac.il
Entry of visitors that did not pre-arrange their appointment will not be permitted.
A disinfection stand will be placed at the entrance to the library. Every work station and copy machine/scanner (if used) must be disinfected by the user before and after every use.
All visitors must wear a mask and gloves at all times while in the library.

New Guidelines –

The number of work stations in the library has been reduced in order to satisfy the "Purple Badge" requirements.
Library service time will be limited to three hours a day and up to twice a week, maximum. Visitors are requested to use the reserved work station that was assigned for them only, which will be marked with their name.
Group learning will not be permitted.

"Off the Shelf" Service –
We are pleased to offer the visitors a new "Off the shelf" service during this time –
The library staff will pre-collect requested books and materials before your visit, which will be waiting for you at the front desk upon your arrival. This service will be available by filling out the form: Reference book order form. You will receive a personal message when materials are ready for you and each order will be kept under your name at the desk for up to 5 working days. These materials cannot be checked out and can only be used within the library.

Photocopying, Printing, and Scanning Services –
The library's copy machine and scanner are available for use. The users are requested to disinfect the machines before and after every use.

For your attention!
Using the library computers is not permitted. You are advised to arrive with your personal laptop.
Use of all library books and materials will be allowed only while wearing gloves.
Food and drink are not permitted in the library premises.
MR Rare books collection will remain closed until further notice.
